Giving thanks for good neighbors
Lots of great Thanksgiving postings shared on Front Porch Forum this week… neighbors thanking neighbors. Here’s one example from the Marshfield Plainfield FPF…
Dear Plainfield: I am so grateful to be your librarian. Thanks to each of you who comes into our little library. We all make it to special place that it is… I certainly couldn’t do it without all of you.
I want to also take this opportunity to thank the Town Clerk’s office and Selectboard members, the Cemetery Commission, the Social Concerns Committee, PACA members… am I forgetting anybody who helps Plainfield function as a town? Also, hurray for Susan and Sylvia at the Jaquith Library in Marshfield!
Last but not least, thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers! Janet, Gail, Sherri, Will, Libby, Ben, Talvi, Emily, Joyce, Maria, Donna, Laura & her Master Gardeners, and the board of trustees (they volunteer their time, too): Jan, Sandra, Bev, Stephen, Monica, Erika and Bob.
When I am reflecting on all I have to be thankful for at the table on Thursday… living in this wonderful state, and serving this diverse and passionate community at this amazing little library, will be high on the list!
ALSO! Thank you, Front Porch Forum for connecting me with the wonderful family who sold me a set of great snow tires at a really great price.
Happy thanksgiving, everybody. We’ll be open again Saturday from 10-2.

Scouts to the rescue!

Thank you everyone for the amazing response to my request to find a girl/boy scout troop for the Old Home Days/Fire Dept 100 year Celebration.
I have been in contact with a boy scout troop leader, and they are excited to participate.
Front Porch Forum really came through on this one… I had over 25 responses!!! I wish I had the time to thank each of you personally, but since I don’t… please know that your responses were very much appreciated!!!! Thanks again!
Kindness and beauty during time of need
#VT – Kathy posted on the Hardwick Front Porch Forum this weekend…
Some weeks ago, I posted asking if anyone wanted to provide flowers that my partner and I could take to a friend who was unable to get out to her garden. Many people responded, and we took several lovely bouquets to our friend, who was very touched and appreciative of the beauty.
She passed earlier this month, so we won’t be asking for any more bouquets. I wanted to say thank you here, since I think I inadvertently deleted some of the emails that came in, offering flowers. The generosity and warmth of so many people to share their gardens was wonderful. Thanks again.
Starving and lost in the Champlain Islands…
#VT – “4:30pm today we found a starving, obviously lost cat in our yard. We fed her & posted a notice on Front Porch Forum quickly… . We… received a call at 6pm. By 6:30pm the cat was reunited with its owners, and sweet Sally is home and happy again. The Power of FPF is amazing and can be heartwarming too!!!”
