Boston Terrier found by neighbors
#VT – “Joined the Middlebury Front Porch Forum on a friend’s suggestion and we found our dog within minutes through these postings. Thanks to the person who found him and looking forward to using the site to help us settle in to our new community.” Posted by Jane today on her FPF.
Telly, the Prodigal Bird
#VT – “Telly is male Cockateil with yellow face and bright red spot for a cheek, grey with white trim feathers. Answers to Telly and “Happy Holidays” Christmas song whistle. If sighted please call Rick. Last Sighted off White Street, Last heard around Chamberlin School area.” This was posted five days ago on one of the South Burlington FPFs.
Followed by this posting just today: “WOW! What a great community South Burlington is. With the help of the community I received Telly sightings and was able to recover my pet. Biggest obstacle was that Telly would not fly down to a lower level and stayed high. He apparently tired and was found on Dorset Street on an outside air conditioner extension and taken to Shelburne Farms Breeding Center. Front Porch Forum is a wonderful tool and you folks are the best. Thanks so much. May God bless you all.”
Scouts to the rescue!

Thank you everyone for the amazing response to my request to find a girl/boy scout troop for the Old Home Days/Fire Dept 100 year Celebration.
I have been in contact with a boy scout troop leader, and they are excited to participate.

Kindness and beauty during time of need

Some weeks ago, I posted asking if anyone wanted to provide flowers that my partner and I could take to a friend who was unable to get out to her garden. Many people responded, and we took several lovely bouquets to our friend, who was very touched and appreciative of the beauty.
She passed earlier this month, so we won’t be asking for any more bouquets. I wanted to say thank you here, since I think I inadvertently deleted some of the emails that came in, offering flowers. The generosity and warmth of so many people to share their gardens was wonderful. Thanks again.
Starving and lost in the Champlain Islands…
#VT – “4:30pm today we found a starving, obviously lost cat in our yard. We fed her & posted a notice on Front Porch Forum quickly… . We… received a call at 6pm. By 6:30pm the cat was reunited with its owners, and sweet Sally is home and happy again. The Power of FPF is amazing and can be heartwarming too!!!”

Baby goat on the lam
#VT – “I’m posting this for friends on Thompson’s Point Road. They brought home 4 young goats this afternoon. One has just jumped the fence & disappeared! If you see a black & brown goat (it’s probably scared to death!) please call them. Thanks so much.” Shared by Janet last night on the Charlotte Front Porch Forum.
We’re so pleased to read this morning’s follow-up posting… “Thanks to our wonderful FPF the goat was reunited with the Corleys about 9 pm last night. She had gone to a neighboring farm & the owners called the owners after seeing my posting. Thank you to the kind farmers (sorry I don’t know their names) & to this amazing service we have.”
Skunk vs. boy
#BTV #VT – My son was sprayed by a skunk acting strangely last night on South Prospect and Ledge. I called the animal control at the number listed on our Front Porch Forum. Thank you FPF for helping to keep us informed!

#VT – I have made several requests on Front Porch Forum lately and I just feel I should return here to say how heartening it is to feel the generosity and kindness of this community so palpably. Within minutes (literally, minutes) of posting these requests, more than a dozen folks reached out with ideas and offers. Wow.
