Ela shared the following posting in the Milton Forum on behalf of her son, Chris.
“My name is Chris D. and i’m working on the Good Citizen Challenge. Part of the challenge is nominating someone who’s a good citizen on Front Porch Forum. I’m nominating Marie D., my grandma cause she’s a good citizen. She volunteers at the elementary school, she volunteers at the food shelf in Milton, sorting food and growing vegetables, and she volunteers at Age Well. She also takes care of me sometimes when my parents need help. She always tries to help her neighbors, and she’s a good person.”

Kids in K-8th grade are invited to participate in Seven Days’ “Good Citizen Challenge,” found here: https://goodcitizenvt.com
Among the 25 activities, some involve posting on FPF, or using it as a tool. Nominations for “Good Citizens” will be entered into a Front Porch Forum raffle, and a randomly selected nominee will receive a $250 gift card at the end of the summer to recognize them for their community-minded work.
Here’s to supporting Vermont kids, learning about community engagement!
