Estate sale re-homes cherished family items

Posted on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 by No comments yet

Thanks to Front Porch Forum for helping us sell several items from my parents’ and grandparents’ estates. It feels good to find new homes for our cherished items. I have also met such lovely people through these efforts!

We have vowed to gift 10% of all selling profits to FPF since they are the main vehicle for safe and cordial communication. THANKS so much for all the work you do for our communities.

“Thanks so much to Front Porch Forum for helping me to become an asset in the community! I have gained new and wonderful people to a growing list of folks needing my assistance in their home. I’m available for Personal Care, laundry, shopping, housework or even travel. I am up for any task and have an extra hand available for larger projects. Together we can tackle anything, from fall cleaning and garden cutbacks, windows, painting. If there are loose ends needing to be tended before winters arrival, give a shout – I’m sure we’re able to lend a hand!”

“A few weeks ago I decided to post a little ad regarding pet care. I have received what I consider an overwhelming response to that posting. THANK YOU Front Porch Forum for putting me in contact with some wonderful people in the area and their pets. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting my neighbors and caring for their ‘families’!”

Need a financial advisor? Ask neighbors on FPF

Posted on Monday, January 12, 2015 by No comments yet

Martha shared the following on her East Montpelier Front Porch Forum today…

Last week I posted requesting recommendations for a financial adviser to help me with retirement planning. Over 25 wonderful neighbors responded. Thank you all. Several people asked me to send them the names I received, so I thought I would open it up to FPF. If you would like to see the list of recommended financial advisers, email me and I’ll pass it on.

“Charlotte neighbors and FPF – thank you!”

Jill in Charlotte posted this yesterday on her FPF…

Recently, I posted on Front Porch Forum about accommodation for my sister and her family over the holidays. I received such wonderful responses, a range of great possibilities! She did end up going with one of them.

And, just today, I picked up my car from Chris at Charlotte Collision. I called him because I remembered at least one FPF post singing his praises. I’d like to add my voice:  Chris looked at the damage to my car, gave me an estimate and an appt, and today it was ready for pick up. It looks great and Chris was very reasonable, commonsensical, easy, and lots of fun to do business with.

Charlotte neighbors and FPF — thank you!
