Smoke dectors are one of the most important items you can have in your home to protect your family. But which smoke dector is the one that will save your life?
I have been in the fire service for over 35 years and am currently the Deptuy Fire Chief in East Montpelier. Having responded to many fire calls and have seen first hand which dectors work and which ones don’t and have tested a number of dectors under real life smoke and fire I would advise you to purchase a combination PHOTO ELECTRIC/IRONIZATION DECTOR. In recent months there has been a lot of testing done on a national basis and the PHOTO ELECTRIC will alert you sooner. I have been to servral house fires were lives could have been saved if these dectors were installed. Be safe and have a happy new year.
