I would like to introduce myself to neighbors, especially the ones I have not met. I want to offer you a complimentary facial – try new colors for the holidays and/or gift ideas for the holidays.

  2. […] But at its core, FPF isn’t about blasting out a single message to thousand of local homes.  It’s about neighborhood-level conversation.  Any local resident may join the single FPF neighborhood forum where he/she lives and post to his/her heart’s content.  (FPF is available in 25 Vermont towns.) i see by looking at the towns you service that this is a westerly side of the state service. are you going to move over here in the kingdom where everybody forgets us? we might have small communitys but i think this would work good in our community and hope you consider st. johnsbury and other towns over here.
    thanks for reading steve fortin

Today Sept 14, 2010 I had just left a meeting where in fact I pledge to post something on the FPF. It was 11:30ish. It was raining in south , bright sun headed north.. I was headed up over to the Boardman Hill area. As I was on the long bypass extension when I saw a rather large bird flying out of the dark rainy clouds. The bird was big, with a large wing span. I noticed it was bright on the top, the brightness brought to my mind a conversation I had with my 14 year old just days ago. The conversation went something like me “saying look a hawk”, with him correcting me almost immediately saying” no dad it was a Kestrel” the difference being the coloring on the bottom of the bird verses the top. Anyway seeing this new bird flying out of rain clouds and into the bright sun I was trying to quickly identify it without veering off the road. White on top, big wings, I thought wow an Eagle, no I said, not here, it is just the sun shining on it, then thought again, hmm an Eagle, no again just the sun, … as it flew closer it was definitely an Eagle, big bright white head, unmistaken arched raptor like beak, … wow… and Eagle .. passing through the heart of West Rutland… I hope it made a guest appearance in the boardwalk.

Saw that FPF is in Moretown. Any plans to expand further into the valley? Waitsfield/Warren??

  10. Michael says:

Hi Hannah… we’d love to expand FPF to other VT towns. We need to find a source of funds to cover our start-up costs to do that. Waitsfield-Warren is one of many places where a conversation has started… let us know if you have any insights. Thanks! -Michael

I was part of FPF when it first started in the five sisters. I’ve been in Montgomery for a few years now, and have missed it. How do I get it started here. It’s a close community a lot of people would get on-board.

  18. Michael says:

Hi Nick. Thanks for your inquiry. We’d love to expand FPF to Montgomery, VT. We’re working on long-term plans to expand FPF statewide and beyond. In the meantime, any community that would like to bring in FPF need only raise the funds to cover our expansion costs and line up a small group of dedicated volunteers to help get the word out locally and prime the pump with a steady flow of postings for a several months. Contact me directly if you’d like to discuss… http://frontporchforum.com/about

    Cheers. -Michael

I don’t know about a well outfit, but I can recommend a good plumber. I am a small-scale builder myself and I have recently been really pleased with Tony Wheelock’s work. He lives in Bolton (Of Jonesville?) and also works around the Roxbury area / Central VT.

Call me if you would like his number
